UltraTech introduces multirepellent EverShield

EcoNote | August 28, 2015 | By:

Jacksonville, Fla.-based spill-containment specialist UltraTech International Inc. has added EverShield to its product line. The fabric protection establishes a polymer coating that encases each fiber of the material, increasing durability.

The coating—which deflects water, food, oil and more—maintains performance levels of long-chain fluorocarbons using the more environmentally friendly C6 fluoropolymers. The product is also water-based with no folatile organic compounds (VOCs).

Unlike some durable water repellents, EverShield-treated fabrics can be washed at standard temperatures. No super-heated wash or drying cycles are needed to maintain superhydrophobicity (high water repellency) or oleophobicity (oil repellency). Cooler water and cooler dryers can mean less energy consumption and lower operating costs.

UltraTech International Inc. specializes in spill containment, stormwater management, facility protection, construction compliance and oil-spill response.
