Dish-shaped wireless speaker goes anywhere

Ultimate Ears has created the UE ROLL, a disc-shaped, compact wireless speaker that projects 360-degree sound from any Bluetooth-enabled smartphone or tablet in a range of as much as 65 feet. The device has a plasma-coated acoustic skin that protects it from moisture and water.

At just 12 ounces, it’s ultimately portable and sports a bungee cord for attachment to just about anything. The rubberized back has the power button, 3.5 mm audio jack and micro USB port.

The company developed a companion app to power the speaker on and off remotely and pair the device to streaming services, such a Spotify and Pandora. The battery life is up to nine hours. The device is available this month in North America and select countries in Europe and Asia.
