Mission Ready will launch Next Generation body armor

What's New? | May 22, 2015 | By:

Mission Ready Services Inc. (MRS) is currently in the final stages of prototyping and user evaluations for its Next Generation Body Armor System.

The company has partnered with the U.S. Army in the development of a new upper extremity system and both have been involved in the concept and design of the item. MRS built 36 units for the first user evaluations in May 2014. Due to high approval ratings, the Army elevated the program to department level II testing. With user feedback and the Army’s guidance, the company built an additional 100 units for second and third user evaluations conducted in early 2015.

Users have commented on the athleticism and greater mobility of the system when compared to current standard issue protective garments. The new system integrates modular items into a single upper extremity system and is lighter than the combined total of the current modular items while providing greater protection.

In an August 2014 news release, Mission Ready announced the filing of a patent application with the U.S. Patent Office, as well as an international filing, for its Integrated Body Armor garment.

A Market Profile by Report Buyer indicates that the body armor and personal protection market for military and law enforcement is currently estimated to be more than $3 billion and is forecast to increase to more than $5 billion within the next 10 years. The market is driven by soldier modernization programs and increasing global demand by law enforcement agencies.

MRSI was created to meet the needs of the U.S. Departments of Defense, Homeland Security and Justice and various other agencies such as law enforcement, first responders and the many others worldwide that help to safeguard our health and security.
