Oryon Technologies, Dallas, Texas-based developer and manufacturer of electroluminescent (EL) lighting technology, marketed under the ELastoLite® brand, announces a marketing agreement with Sparkfun Electronics, Bouldar, Colo., to make EL technology samples more available to wearable technology inventors and developers. An online retail business, Sparkfun sells components for DIY electronics projects.
As of late August 2013, ELastolite® starter kits with an EL lamp, circuitry, inverter, connectors and battery pack can be purchased from the Sparkfun Electronics online catalog and through its distributors in Sparkfun’s global network.
Oryon’s elastomeric lighting material is flexible, crushable and water-resistant, among other properties, and can be incorporated into a range of applications, such as safety apparel, sporting goods and fashion apparel. The market opportunity includes outerwear, industrial safety, municipal safety, military, clothing, shoes and gear.
